Long Model

•  Measure a smooth straight broomstick into 6 parts.

Cut the broomstick into 5 pieces,

making one piece twice the length of the others.

    ( use as the center with a hand-hold )

•  Use notebook paper and scotch tape to make the bands.

Line up the rollers on end and run a strip thru them

to get a measure of the strip length needed,

then cut the other strips to match.

•  Taping it together is a bit difficult.

A table knife can be used to help lay the tape flat.

It may also help to run a piece of tape perpendicular to the paper strip

to help make sure the tape holds.

See: "Construction" in American Machinist Magazine cover- article, March 96  ....

•  C-Shaped belts are arranged in an alternating pattern.

This offset pattern creates balanced  "tug-points",

separating and stabilizing along the rollers

and locking them into parallel rotation.

Tug-points (symmetrical)

. . . . now you can create very long bearings or stabilize very long shafts

by wrapping a scroller around it and simply adding more/wider belts.
