Friction
_______________________________________
• In Scroller Mechanics,
a high degree of surface-to-surface contact
avoids rubbing friction between parts.
As it rolls, all surfaces scroll in the same direction at exactly the same surface speed.
Scroller wheel defies friction by avoiding the very sources of friction, vibration and wear.
• Scroller technology offers cool, smooth lube-free rotary motion.
Contact / Wrap
• The key to this geometry involves its high degree of surface-to-surface contact.
Over half of each roller is wrapped (along the row) by scrolling retaining belts.
The belts move smoothly over and around the rollers
at the exact same speed as the surfaces of the rollers (no relative surface motion).
Movement
• The high rolling contact of rollers and belts virtually eliminates
the vibration, friction and wear inherent in ordinary rolling mechanics.
This contact results in a smooth, lube-free, slip-free movement.
Slip / Rub
• Belts simply pick up and lay down on the rollers;
therefore, there is no slipping, sliding, or rubbing between parts,
merely rolling friction remains.
• Rolling friction can be made extremely small,
depending on the accuracy of construction
and the belt tension required.
