Construction
_______________________________________
![• This new type of mechanics opens the door
to a wide range of functions and applications.
It is difficult to thoroughly describe this technology.
The technology is continuing to evolve
.... mix and match construction results in many movements and functions,
available singly or in combination, parallel or series combinations,
even within a single device or system.
See: Costs, manufacturing ....

Models ("play with it")
• Construction method may vary
according to the materials chosen and the functions desired.
Initially, exploring the technology and getting a feel for it
can begin with a basic model;
later moving on to more accurate, suitable prototypes
tailored to a specific application.
It will help to get your hands on it and your mind around it,
as you feel its many different motions.
Nothing compares with the feel of scroller geometry.
See: Geometry ....
Model Construction
• Here are two easy ways to make working models:
Long
• 8 belts
• 4 orbit rollers
• 1 centre roller
See: Long Model ....
Short
• 4 belts
• 4 orbit rollers
• 1 centre roller
See: Short Model ....
1. If you want it to be self-supporting
.... 2 bands per outer roller.
2. If you attach 2 shafts [in and out] to other equipment
.... one band per outer roller.
3. If you use a rigid outer sleeve
.... one band per outer roller plus outer-bands of any number.
4. If you use a flexible outer sleeve ... 2 bands per outer roller.
NOTE: if you use more than 5 rollers, the inner-roller
must be larger than the outer-rollers
• These two configurations are the most practical
for explaining belt offset, balance and stability.
Depending on the roller length, roller / belt number or application,
the variety of roller / belt combinations are endless.
The chosen configuration must simply result in
a balanced, stable cluster of parallel rollers.](Construction_files/shapeimage_1.png)
